As mentioned in the previous tutorial our greenhouse lacks diagonal bracing, so you'll learn to edit the Glass object at sub object Edge mode to manipulate geometry edge's visibility and direction. Viz. at its will be passed to the reference clone Frame object to become struts.
Again, it's the process and workflow that's important here and I encourage you to take the initiative to experiment with other editing functions that might be more relevant to your specific production needs. more »

In order to create a stable structure at the greenhouse roof now requires vertical struts that you learn to place by exiting the original base rectangle defining the roof's footprint.
In order to maintain connectivity throughout the editing structure you'll learn to add a modifier to the middle of the current stack. This Edit Spline modifier provides access to sub-object editing without breaking the workflow throughout the Modifier history. more »

You've created complex geometry with two simple 2D shapes and two Modifiers but the greenhouse frame needs more structural members and smaller panes of glass. In this lesson you'll learn to edit the original 2D geometry to create horizontal frame members. more »

Learn how to use Reference cloning to greatly expand the flexibility of creating a greenhouse roof for our building. The resulting workflow allows you to edit the underlying 2D geometry and affect both the glass and the frame of the greenhouse.
This allows you to "sketch" in 3D as you show the client various options quickly and efficiently. more »

Stop the presses!! The client notifies you that they have decided to put a greenhouse roof on this building and need to see a proposal this afternoon.
Normally this might seem like a daunting task but because we have set things up for flexible editing it's not a problem at all. You'll use the Lattice modifier applied to a Reference clone of the roof to generate the greenhouse frame. In this tutorial you will learn the functionality of the Latticed modifier. more »

Pivot Points of objects may become dislocated during editing in this tutorial will show how to move the new Windows pivot point to the center of its bounding box.
Keeping track of pivot points is not especially important at this point in the exercises, but when you begin animating it is the pivot point that is actually animated and its position becomes critical. more »
